Accountant


Under general guidance of the Plant Controller, he/she is responsible for the general Accounting and reporting function, as well as Payroll function, in conformity with regulatory and company policies and procedures. He/she, under direction of the Plant Controller has internal control oversight of facility processes in accordance with financial and company policies and procedures (includes training, self-audits and peer reviews) and acts as assessor for all facility SOX assessment objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Directly responsible for all basic accounting requirements of the facility including general accounting, payroll, review of Non-PO payables, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Directly responsible for maintenance of facility s fixed assets subsystems, including entry of new assets, depreciation, and disposals or retirements. Also, responsible for related facility audits including rolling stock and useful life review.
  • Actively participates in the formulation of business strategies, objectives, and business and financial operating plans for the facility by providing information, analysis, counsel and recommendations in support of the facility s annual and long-range budgeting and forecast processes.
  • Establishes, maintains manufacturing cost control policies, procedures and systems to provide timely, accurate and meaningful data to assist operating management in control of operations.
  • Prepares and/or reviews the financial analyses of proposed projects to permit sound business decisions and to evaluate the results of completed appropriations.
  • Works closely with the Plant Controller on strategic and capital operating plan preparation.
  • Works closely with the Plant Controller on the facility s month end processes including production and publishing of reoccurring reports, graphs, key performance indicators, and presentation of results in business review meetings.
  • Ensures application of established financial controls within area of responsibility by effective implementation and maintenance of financial policies/processes and instructions.
  • Responsible for facility s compliance with the Company s Record Retention Policy; Coordinates internal control applications, provides training as necessary.
  • Participates in balance sheet reviews, self-audits and peer reviews.
  • Coordinates and facilitates US and local tax reporting requirements.
  • Backup for the Plant Controller.


Required Skills

BACKGROUND /
Experience:

  • Broad appreciation and understanding of economics, finance, business management and the interrelationships among these disciplines, as well as a thorough knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience which includes exposure to manufacturing operations and business analysis and will have demonstrated strengths in analysis, planning and forecasting and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor s Degree (Accounting or Finance)
  • Masters in Accounting, or MBA, preferred

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, various manufacturing and staff departments within the facility, and with groups outside the facility.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize time management and multi-tasking skills to keep up with the demands of coordinating all the finance and payroll activities.
  • Software Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), SAP and QAD.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills, and detail orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions. Takes initiative and is self-directed.
  • High level of integrity to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without a great need of supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
